Estrela Chaves, Nurse Practitioner Certified Diabetes Educator
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Estrela Chaves worked as a Registered Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital and at U Mass Medical Hospital. Upon receiving her Nurse Practitioner degree in 1990 she worked for twenty years in Internal Medicine alongside other specialists including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and infectious disease. In September of 2010, she joined Dr. Matta and her team at Marlboro Internal Medicine.
Estrela Chaves believes in providing holistic, individualized and compassionate care. In addition to treating medical conditions, she focuses on prevention, wellness and patient education.
On a personal note, she was born in Portugal and immigrated to the United States in 1976. She speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish. She lives in Hudson, MA with her husband and 2 children.
